We meet on Monday’s during term time, from 4:15 til around 6.00pm in the Church. We start with snacks and a catch up. Then we pray together, study the Bible, talk about relevant and important issues, and spend time waiting on God and listening to Him. Anyone aged between 12 and 18 is welcome to attend, but this group generally suits young people who have been Christians for a year or more. During the past year we have discussed ‘Why God made us in the first place’, ‘What will happen on judgement day?’, Why should I read my Bible?’, ‘How to witness to my friends’, and many other subjects.
Come along and join us for worship, on the third Sunday evening of the month, all welcome regardless of age! Aimed at young people and teenagers, but open to all ages, we have snacks and coffee from 6.00pm. with the actual service starting at 6.30pm. Worship is led by the youth band, and there is sometimes a game, a short talk from a speaker, and some space to think, or time to be prayed for. Since September we have had five different speakers, covering all kinds of topics, like ‘praying’, ‘mission’, ‘trusting God’, ‘making a difference’ and ‘relationships’.
Have you got questions? About your future? The meaning of life? Whether God exists? Then come to Xplore on Thursday’s after school to find answers to all these questions and more. Maybe you owe it to yourself – just once – to ask the BIG questions in life...and perhaps even find some answers?
We run this group regularly for young people who want to explore the Christian faith or find out more about what we believe. Anyone is welcome, regardless of their own beliefs, and we enjoy trying to answer difficult questions about God, and have lively debates about our various points of view. We have snacks, usually watch a DVD together and then have a discussion about what we have watched. The group runs from 4:15 until approximately 6p.m. during term time. Susanna runs this group with the help of another youth leader, kindly supplied by the Christian charity Pulse
On the second and fourth Sunday of the month ‘escape’ to the church lounge with other young people for an informal discussion time, with hot chocolate and biscuits. Escape is for any young person in year 7 or above and we talk about all kinds of subjects relevant to our lives and to God. We stay in church for the initial worship (starting at 10:45a.m.) and first part of the service, and then move to the church lounge for the rest of the morning. Finishes around midday.
During the first week of the summer holidays, any young person in year 7 or above can join us for a day of fun and activities all around the village, with some space to think about God and discover more about the Christian faith during the day. This is a follow on for any young person locally who has grown up attending Allsorts when they were younger, but everyone is welcome whether you’ve been to Allsorts before or not.
Xplore Away Day
A fun day out in Ashridge Forest for young people who have been attending Revive or Xplore, on either Monday’s or Thursday’s, during the year.
During the summer holidays we regularly organise camping trips to the Soul Survivor Youth Event down at the Royal Bath & West Showground in Shepton Mallett. The trip is for young people aged between 13 and 18, and it involves 5 nights of camping in a massive field, eating the culinary delights of the leaders(!) and spending time with each other and God. There are massive celebrations, cool cafes, all kinds of music gigs, sports for the energetic ones - including skateboarding, a 5-a-side football tournament and a fun run. There are also shops and a food court with waffles to die for (well, not literally!) and food from every corner of the world! We expect any young person attending the summer camp with us to be involved in other areas of youth activity at ACBC.
